Join our hosts, Rotary International Vice President Valarie Wafer, and Rotary Foundation Trustee, Dean Rohrs, for our Fundraising Gala on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 8:00 pm ET.   Special guests include RI President-Elect Jennifer Jones, Director-Elect Drew Kessler, and our MC for the evening, Past-Director Jeffry Cadorette.

This 90-minute, fast-paced event celebrates the work by every Rotarian in the 43 Districts of Zones 28 & 32 to support and raise funds for The Rotary Foundation.

BUYING TICKETS

Tickets to the virtual event are available by clicking the poster at the top or clicking this link to Buy Gala Admission Tickets

Each Gala ticket includes a contribution of $100 USD to The Rotary Foundation, allocated 75% to the Annual Fund and 25% to PolioPlus. Your gift will be a fully credited donation to TRF - and you will receive a charitable tax receipt, and related Paul Harris Fellowship points. Plus, each donation is credited towards your District's Foundation Goals for the 2022/23 Rotary year.

As you purchase your Gala Admission Tickets, Rotarians have the opportunity to increase their contribution with additional donations. This gives Rotarians, their clubs, and Districts the opportunity to DO MORE GOOD and meet the goals they have all set for Foundation donations this year.

Register by January 23 and win Bob Scott!  The Past Chair of the International PolioPlus Committee, has agreed to be our draw prize - to appear by Zoom as guest speaker for your club or District meeting.  A random draw will be made from all registrations.

HYBRID CELEBRATION!

Districts and clubs are invited to join us at your own in-person celebrations.  Our President-Elect Jennifer and Director-Elect Drew will lead us on a tour of Zones 28 & 32.  They will drop-in LIVE at selected events as we open the celebration and join your gatherings from Alaska to Bermuda and all points in between.  Events can be house parties, pub gatherings, or ballroom events.  If you are interested in having us visit your venue or event in your District, let us know by emailing Chair Peter Schultz at peter.rotary5060@gmail.com

Note that we need everyone at your event to purchase a ticket to the Celebration Gala - after all, this is a fundraiser for The Rotary Foundation!

Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta has a vision for Rotary. He is asking and encouraging every Rotarian, each of us, to do more in our communities. Shekhar is asking each club to conduct a Rotary Day of Service in their community!

With that said, District Governor Joanne Alfieri District 7890 and Vice Governor Rick Bassett, on behalf of Jeff Krause, District Governor from District 7980 have come up with a plan to make his vision come true!  Our District has chosen April 9, 2022, as our Day of Service. Our vision is that all our clubs participate in a service project on this day infiltrating our towns with the love of Rotary Service.  There will be participation of all Rotary Clubs in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.  We will be contacting state officials and state media to involve them in a Connecticut wide and Western Massachusetts wide Day of Service April 9, 2022. This undertaking will be led by PDG Kate Sims for D-7890 & PDG Jack Solomon for D-7980.

Our Ask:
Choose a project, it can be a new project for that day or an ongoing project that your club has been pursuing or even multiple projects. On April 9th, get all your club members together to work on the project and celebrate their contributions. Invite city/town officials to participate, invite others in town, invite other service clubs to all participate and help with the service. Involve your Interact Club in your service and celebration. Make a part of your service and celebration a media event, so invite the local press. We will provide you with help in organizing your clubs' media event. It will be simple.
  • invite city and town officials
  • invite other service minded people
  • invite other service clubs
  • involve your Interact Club
  • have a media event during the service project
