The Wethersfield/Rocky Hill Rotary Club is pleased to announce the formation of a new Interact Club at Rocky Hill High School, under the guidance of History teacher Jeff Mertens.

Interact is a club for youth primarily between the ages 12-18 who want to connect with others in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. Interact clubs organize at least two service projects a year: one that benefits their community and one that encourages international understanding.

While Interact clubs receive guidance from the Wethersfield/Rocky Hill Rotary club, they govern and support themselves. This is done through fundraising and other events that are held throughout the year. On Thursday, May 12, 2016, Rocky Hill High School charted its first Interact Club led by senior Emily Zobrowski. Rotary District Governor Kyong Wilson presented the club with a Rotary bell and banner donated by Sue and Peter Klock.

RHHS Interact club announced that they will be taking part in an annual event at the South Park Inn, located in Hartford. The Wethersfield/Rocky Hill Rotary prepares and serves a fresh, hot meal to the homeless.  The Interact Club will also be planning a Hometown Heroes project in honor of our Veterans and a Homeless Simulation in which all proceeds will benefit Shelter Box.

The Interact club meets every other Thursday from September 'til June. They are planning to connect in the summer for a picnic. Anyone interested in joining or stopping by to meet the club should contact the club’s liaison, Jennifer Madley at jmadley@yahoo.com. This is a great opportunity for those that will need community service hours, recognitions for college enrollment or just wanting to help in the community.  Wethersfield/Rocky Hill Rotary has been assisting the community for over 75 years. Anyone interested in joining Rotary please contact Gina Herbaltd at ginahrotary26@aol.com.
