Ann Lee Hussey to be Keynote Speaker for 2013 Pre-PETS on February 12th

Image2010-2011 District 7780 Governor Ann Lee Hussey will be the keynote speaker for District 7890's Pre-PETS and Mid-year Presidents' Meeting on February 12th at the Enfield Holiday Inn in Enfield, CT.  Ann joined Rotary in April 2002 and immediately became involved.  She has traveled twice to Venzuela on Rotoplast trips to assist children receiving surgeries for cleft lip and cleft palate.  As a polio survivor, Ann's primary passion is Rotary's work to eradicate polio.  She has participated in 15 National Immunization Day (NID) efforts in India, Egypt, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Bangladesh, and over the past 4 years has organized and led NID teams.   To learn more about Ann, click on the link below.

A Grant Management Seminar will also be presented at this year's Pre-PETS event, focusing on Rotary's new grants programs starting in July 2013.  Clubs should plan on having at least two club members attend this seminar in order for their club to be eligible to apply for any District Designated Funds (DDF) in 2013-2014.  Participants must be active club members, other than the President-Elect 2013-2014 and the current club President, who care about helping people in their communities and beyond.  For more information and a registration form, click on the event link under District Events on this homepage.

 

At the Club level Ann Lee served in many capacities and as Club President for 2005-2006. For District 7780 she has served as District Conference Committee Chair, District PolioPlus Chair and as World Community Service Chair. Ann Lee is a member of the Casco Bay Rotary Club in the Portland area and is enjoying her fifth year as a Trustee on the Board of York Hospital.

In May 2005 she received Rotary's highest honor for individual Rotarians, the Service Above Self award and in June 2006 she received the Rotary Foundation International Service Award for a Polio Free World.

Ann Lee has shared her story and passion for polio eradication throughout the United States and around the world, at numerous District Conferences, Zone Institutes, PETS, Foundation Seminars and club meetings, including the International Institute in Salt Lake City in 2007, the Presidential Peace Conference in Nairobi, Kenya in Sept. 2007 and for Health and Hunger at the LA Convention. She is a Major Donor of the Rotary Foundation.

Ann Lee currently Chairs the Polio Survivors and Associates Rotarian Action Group and serves on the Reach Out to Africa Service Associates Subcommittee as a Functional Coordinator for Health Initiatives. She  also served as Zone 32 Coordinator for Health and Hunger for 2009-2010.

Ann Lee is a Veterinary Technician who with her husband, Michael Nazemetz, DVM own Village Veterinary Clinic in Rollinsford, NH. They reside in South Berwick, Maine.
