The Easthampton and Northampton Rotary Clubs threw their annual Christmas Bash for needy kids at the Pulaski Club in Easthampton on Monday evening, and Santa was a big hit at always.

Each year, these two Rotary Clubs collaborate to put on a great evening for area kids and their families.  This year, each of over sixty (yes, sixty) kids received a personalized package of presents, prepared for him or her by a Rotarian, and an opportunity to sit with Santa, played with gusto right down to the last brass buckle, by Springfield Rotary Club President Rick Lee.

But that wasn’t all.  Each family got a hot dinner, and there were plenty of entertaining activities -- including elves and a very active clown – to keep them excited and occupied throughout the evening.

“We do this for the children who normally might not have such a bright Christmas,” said Steven Roberts of the Northampton Rotary Club, who works hard every year to pull off this signature event.  “Their families have money issues.  Sometimes health issues, or even food issues.  We do it for them.”

Heartfelt thanks are due, as always, to the Pulaski Club for their generous donation of space, without which this party could not happen.
