Incoming presidents, bring your leadership team to the District Assembly.  Not only incoming officers but members of key committees will benefit.  Registration form available here from download area, bottom left of home page.

The District Assembly is the final meeting of 2011-2012 club presidents with their district governor, Assistant Governor and other district leaders. This meeting is mandatory for incoming presidents and is very important for other officers, i.e. incoming secretaries and treasurers as well as 2012-2013 presidents.  Note, in addition to meetings of the District Treasurer with incoming treasurers and District Secretary with incoming secretaries, for the first time, there will be a special session for the 2012-2013 presidents with their governor, DGN Eileen Rau.

Under District 7890 Bylaws, the budget for 2011-2012 will be submitted to the incoming presidents for their approval during this meeting.  District Treasurer Ray Evans will be with us to present the final draft of the budget and answer questions.  A copy of this draft budget was distributed at NEPETS 11.  Additionally, there will be an opportunity for incoming presidents to review progress on their Strategic Planning Guide with their Assistant Governors.

So, if you are not an incoming officer, why should you attend the District Assembly? Any chairs of key committees should be there. Membership, Foundation, Service Projects and Fundraising, Youth Programs. You are all part of the team!

Gain an understanding of goals for 2011-2012: understand why and how to grow Rotary with qualified members, what is meaningful support of The Rotary Foundation, why are our foundation's programs a crucial part of our attractiveness to younger, non-Rotarians.  Panel discussions will update you on the latest news from our Rotary Foundation (TRF) and New Generations, Rotary's newest avenue of service.  Any Rotarian involved in, or wanting to become involved in, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Youth Exchange (YEX), Interact and Rotaract, should definitely be there.

To attract attention, and thus gain younger, qualified members, all clubs need to plan and participate in bigger, better and bolder projects, e.g. think beyond clean water to clean-waterPLUS.  Get involved in area-wide or district-wide projects to accomplish this. We also must do more to make the public aware of and care about Rotary's ongoing effort to eradicate polio. Anyone who has an interest in participating in an actual National Immunization Day — personally delivering those two life-saving drops — come hear about this, and other efforts which validate adding "International" to "Rotary."

And, last but not least, there will be practical, how-to sessions in support of achieving our goals: How to Apply for a Grant So you Have a Chance of Getting a Grant and How to Make the Most of ClubRunner Websites.

All incoming presidents have received the registration form.  Speak to your president-elect -- be sure you are added to the registration form.

Fee for this event, which includes breakfast, is $30.

Any questions, contact Governor-elect, Sue Klock.
