Join our District VTT and go to South Africa

District 7890 will be funding a Vocational Training Team going to Cape Town South Africa in 2015-2016. We are planning to go February /March 2016 when the South African weather is delightful. This VTT will be a little of a hybrid as it includes some of the same aspects of Group Study Exchange. The team will stay with Rotarians, visit Rotary Clubs, as well as give short speeches at the clubs. South Africans are incredibly social and will make sure that our team has a memorable time.

The team will consist of 6 Rotarians or non-Rotarians but must have a Rotary team leader, all of whom are qualified teachers. They will meet with teachers who work with children ages 4 to 6 years old and train them. In turn the newly trained teachers will impart their knowledge by working with willing but untrained teachers in the Cape townships that are ill-equipped to do the job. The trip will be fully paid for by Rotary and all the participants will need is clothing, spending money, insurance and a will to do a good job.

We in District 7890 will want to hear all about the VTT, so the team will be at the District Conference on Cape Cod, April 2016 to tell us all about their experience.

How can you help?

♦ Our District VTT will be interviewing willing candidates after receiving their application forms.

♦ The application form can be found in the left hand column of this page under Files.

♦ Please get the word out to capable teachers who would like to participate.

Thanks for your help,
